On ‘Falgun Sankashti’ (Last month according to Hindu Almanac and An auspicious day for worship of Lord Ganesha) it was on Sunday the 31st of March 2002. ‘Shree Baba Chachad’ came for ‘Shree Swāmi’s "Darshan". It was 7.50 p.m. and suddenly we could get a fabulous fragrance from nowhere. 'Pradnya' , Myself, 'Shridhar' and 'Sau. Aparna' and 'Baba Chachad' were sitting in front of ‘Shree Swāmi’s photograph and were chatting, suddenly the room was filled with the fragrance of "Chāphā"(Champaka Flower, this yellow colored flower is very dear to ‘Shree Swāmi’ and the fragrance of this flower is very strong and sweet). This fragrance was lingering in ‘Shree Swāmi Darbar’ for a very long period of time. ‘Shree Swāmi’ is very fond of ‘Shree Baba Chachad’, with His grace ‘Baba’ answers many of the people’s questions correctly and gives correct council, to them. Baba does this work most selflessly, without expecting anything. That’s the reason why ‘Shree Swāmi’ has given special power to him. ‘WHENEVER ANYBODY DOES SOME SELFLESS WORK, OR HELPS AND SERVES OTHERS WITHOUT ANY EXPECTATIONS, THE LORD GIVES THAT PERSON SOME SPECIAL POWERS, FOR SURE’. My family and I had to face many problems. But we had adopted a philosophy that, one’s spiritual life and mundane (material) life are two different things. Never to mix the two, never think or take it for granted that if we are on the path of devotion, we shall never have to face any difficulties or problems. In fact when we are bombarded with problems our "Bhakti" (Devotion) intensifies. We go nearer and nearer to the Lord. Spiritual life is completely different. We are consistently progressing on this path, even when we are suffering. As our "Bhakti" increases the power to bear the difficulties stoically also increases. This power the author has compared with the "Shidori"(The food we carry with us as we set to travel, to last us during the journey), this power not only lasts us for one lifetime but for many lifetimes to come. The love we express towards the Lord, the devotional services we offer to Him regularly on daily basis, take us nearer to the Lord. Our mind becomes purer and purer, and ultimately the feeling of brotherhood and encompassing love for all mankind becomes an integral part of our lives. Many people in my immediate family suffered a lot physically. My father Late ‘Annā’ was extremely ill during his last days. Both my children when they were young had many ailments. My wife also had to face a serious health problem in 2001, but even during period of endless chain of suffering, my faith in ‘Shree Swāmi Samarth’ and my devotion for Him never became less. It did not alter, many a times we had monetary problems, even while facing difficult, painful and sorrowful life, our ‘Swāmi Bhakti’ remains SAME. In fact I would admit humbly that it INCREASED. That is one of reason why dear ‘Shree Swāmi’ is with us at all times; He led us and showed us the way out of this difficult maze of life. He even cured us from diseases which have no cure. |
