The following information is available
regarding ‘Shree Swāmi Mahārāj’s time of Birth and His Horoscope according
to ‘Hindu Panchāng’ (Hindu almanac). He was born on ‘Chaitra,
Shukla Dwitiyā, Shake 1071, 'Ashwini Nakshatra', 2nd
Charan, Preeti Yoga, Thursday, Aadya Nadi, Dev gana, Shree Kashayap
Gotra’. One 'Mr. Rekhi' from 'Ahmednagar' has also charted his
Horoscope according to the position of planets at that particular
time. Mahārāj took ‘Samadhi’ on ‘Chaitra, Krushna
trayodashi, shake 1800 on a Tuesday at about 4.00 p.m. in the
afternoon. The ‘Muralidhar Mandir’ where we put up during our
stay in ‘Akkalkot’is a holy place and as we walk on the floor
over there we feel that, one must walk very carefully with respect as
Shree Swāmi used to very often stay in that Mandir. ‘Bhosale’s ,
the royal family of 'Akkalkot' has given this personal temple of
their's for the service of the devotees who stay in 'Akkalkot'.
‘Vatavruksha Shree Swāmi temple’ is just two minutes walk from this
temple. Shree Swāmi used to sit under this same ‘Vata (Banyan
Tree). Adjacent to this tree is a bedroom with ‘Shree Swāmi’s
bed, where He use to rest. After coming out of the bedroom, if
one walks straight ahead, on the left hand side there is a ‘Shree
Gurumandir’ made out of stone. Great ‘Shree Swāmi Bhakta’ ‘Shree Gajānan Mahārāj’ (A great Saint of
the twentieth century) used to stay there. As you enter the temple, on
the left-hand side there is a big stone. ‘Shree Parashurām’ (6th
incarnation of Lord Mahāvishnu) had given
darshan to ‘Shree Gajānan Mahārāj’ sitting on this
stone.
Indside there is a room where ‘Shree Gajānan Mahārāj’ used to do His "Sādhanā" (pray, chant and meditate). In the main 'Gurumandir', many photographs of Shree Swāmi’s times are hung on all four walls. As you proceed straight and turn to your right, there is ‘Hakkyāchā Māruti’ (The idol of the Monkey God). This idol was installed here by 'Shree Rāmdās Swāmi'. The idol of ‘Māruti’ is made up of black stone and is beautiful. Over here in the basement Shree Swāmi’s disciple ‘Bālappā’ used to sit for his "Sādhanā". Balappā’s "Chipalyā" (castanets) are kept in the niche, in one of the walls in this room. As you come out there is a narrow street which ultimately joins the main road, after taking a left turn you will find ‘Joshi Math’. Shree Swāmi’s Pādukās’ are in this Math. 'Shree Swāmi Mahārāj' had first come to 'Khandobā Mandir' in ‘Akkalkot’. Do visit this Mandir and take "Darshan" of the Deity there. Near the station there is ‘Shankarrāo Rājerāyan Math’. Even over here, facilities to stay and take "Prasad" are available. There is a road behind ‘Muralidhar Mandir’. If you go straight on this road you will find a lake and as you travel a little more distance on the right hand side you will find ‘Nuruddin’s Darga’. (A holy place where there is a Muslim Saint Nuruddin’s tomb). As you climb the stairs of the ‘Darga’ there is a place on the left hand side, where ladies offer green bangles to ‘Nuruddin’s’ sister. This act of their's is supposed to give long healthy life to their respective husbands. If you come straight from ‘Guru Mandir’ over the little bridge, you will find ‘Budhwār Peth’ (name of the Street). There are some grains pounding mills. As you pass these mills and take a left turn, you will find ‘Shree Swāmi Samarth Samadhi Math’. |
