He called us and said, ‘Annāsaheb, I have just retired. Would you please send some laborers for the construction work of ‘Shree Swāmi’s Math. I will get some work done there’ . My father ‘Annā’ sent all the laborers. Those days I used to visit ‘Shree Swāmi’s Math daily without fail. Sometimes I had to go there for supervision, for our workers were working over there. One day I went to the Math rather early and I saw our Mason ‘ Baburao Kedari’ was waiting for me. He made me wait and completed the work of building the central dais for ‘Shree Swāmi’, in my presence. Even in this instance, the ever-kind ‘Shree Swāmi’ gave me an opportunity to serve Him. I always felt that one should have ‘Shree Swāmi’s "Padukas" in front of the photograph at our place. I used to wonder as how "Padukas" should be and as how to get them made. Once Annā’s friend, a sculptor, ‘Kisanrao’ alias ‘Tatya Hinge’ visited our shop at noon. 'Sau. Aparna' and myself happened to be there at that time. ‘Tatya’ insisted on us visiting his house immediately. We went to his house. ‘Tatya’ went inside and came out with a fabulous marble "Padukas" in his hand and gave them to us. We were touched and our eyes went misty with emotions for ‘Shree Swāmi’ had fulfilled our ardent desire. ‘Tatya’ said "When I was making them, I used to take special care to keep the sanctity. I used to take a clean bath before I even touched the material, when I used to come home from outside". We felt happy, content and blessed. This was ‘Shree Swāmi’s "Leela". He gave us the "Padukas". We felt that our life had become fruitful and meaningful. Our life’s objective was achieved!. Even ‘Sankashti Chaturthi’ (A particular day, which is very auspicious for Lord Ganesha) ‘Nana Karandikar’ used to come to our house to break his fast. Even if Nana was in travel, he would carve time and come to our house to eat something. All of us along with ‘Nana’ used to do the ‘Ganapati’ "Aarati". This indeed was a great coincidence and a big event in our lives that a great ‘Swāmi-Bhakta’ used to eat and pray with us. On one of the 10th, monthly programme, when the "Aarati" was taking place the entire “Devhārā” (Altar; A wooden on silver decorative dollhouse like structure, where the idols of God are placed for worship) was moving on its own along with the banana leaf stems which were tied to it for decoration. This was witnessed by “Sau. Chitra Shinde” and “Sau Manisha Joshi”. They pointed it out to all of us. |
